Andromeda Galaxy (M31).
Autoguided prime focus photo taken with a Minolta SR-T101 camera mounted on a 90mm f/5.6 ProOptic Maksutov-Cassegrain spotting scope mounted on an 203.2mm f/6.3 Meade LX200 Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescopeusing Kodak Royal Gold 1000 ASA film with an exposure of 42 minutes at 2:21 AM EDT on August 11, 2002 in Ellenville, NY. Guiding was done with an SBIG ST-4 at the Cassegrain focus of the LX200 Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope. I had to cut the exposure short (planned for one hour) due to a power problem causing the loss of the guide star. A prior exposure also was cut short, but by a premature spontaneous release of the shutter.
