Mars-first light with the iBot.

An average of 67 frames from video taken with an OrangeMicro iBot FireWire CCD webcam using BTV Pro mounted with a Mogg webcam adapter on an 127mm f/14.96 Meade ETX125AT Maksutov-Cassegrain Telescope with a Scoptronix visual back at 2:01 AM on August 12, 2003 in New York, NY. Each of the frames was aligned and averaged using Keith's Image Stacker on my 600MHz iBook. It was a cloudy night, but looking at the satellite it was clear that there would be some breaks in the fluffy canopy covering the city. This was first (astro) light for the iBot, and since I got my Mogg adapter in the post the previous afternoon, I was determined to try out the iBot. The combination of the iBot and the longer focal length of the ETX125AT outperformed the SAC-IV with 2x barlow on the f/6.3 LX200 in this preliminary test.
